# About Me

My name is Andy Beane, and I am currently a Senior Software Engineer with nearly ten years experience. I've spent the majority of my career as a backend or full-stack developer, and currently work for Spotify, on a platform team.

I've worked with a variety of languages and technologies academically and professionally - some of which include JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL, Java, SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery), Express, Docker, NoSQL/Document Databases (Mongo, DynamoDB), FaaS (AWS Lambda) and more!

I've worked in environments deploying directly to self-managed (company really) servers, AWS, and GCP.

Here are some of the teams and projects I've been a part of:

Fleet Management @ Spotify (opens new window) - We're a small team of engineers whom owns a platform for rolling out automated changes across the large fleet of services across Spotify.

CNN Underscored (opens new window) - Prior to Spotify, I was the engineering lead for a two team squad, leading CNN's ecommerce product reviews site - CNN Underscored.

Teen Checking @ Capital One (opens new window) - Backend engineering lead for Capital One's mobile-first Teen Checking experience, which is an industry leading experience focused around providing parent/guardians the opportunity to teach their teens how to save and manage money.

Data Loss Prevention @ Symantec - Now part of Broadcom (formerly Norton when I was there), working on Symantec's industry leading enterprise DLP (data loss prevention) software engine.
